Anyone who visits here regularly will know that I have a bit of a soft spot for book projects... and so it is, another one :) The Book Cell Project was a temporary installation at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 2006 by Matej Kren. What I love about this, and what makes it so special, is that these books are from the Foundation's library and that all of them were returned to the shelves afterwards... isn't that fabulous? It makes them more of a living thing I think :) I like the idea of being able to walk amongst and within these sculptures that at once reflect the meaning and the physicality of the foundation.
