The next item from the wonderful Paper Book comes from the well-known fashion designer Hussein Chalayan. It's a simple idea, but so exquisitely simple I think it just might make the list of my all-time favourite things.... It's a paper dress that can be folded down to envelope size and posted! Can you imagine the fun you could have with this? This meditation on Absence and Presence was part of a 1999 exhibition of Paper Fashion which toured Europe extensively. You could buy them a few years ago now from the V&A, but alas, those fine days are gone now. Hussein Chalayan is a 'serial innovator' in fashion and art.
