We're having a breather today... a little something unconnected with "the book"! My lovely friend Anna Maria let me know about this artist today and it was so refreshing to see his work I decided you might appreciate this change too.... So, who is he? Well, Maarten Brinkman is an artist who works predominately with paper. I think he's Dutch but I may be wrong there, sorry. I couldn't find a website for him, only the Flickr photostream suggested by Anna Maria. After days of seeing such technical brilliance, it was the raw spontaneous beauty of Brinkman's pieces that inspired me so much. He himself says of his work:
"I am trying more and more to make art in a more intuitive way and less technical. I want to tell something about how I feel, instead of what I see."
